Back in 2020, the admins of the Dad’s of Southern Wake NC Facebook group collected business information from members of the group and published a brochure. It listed businesses owned or worked at by group members along with any special offers for Dad’s Group members. We’ve done a fair bit of work on our house the last few years and have collected a list of vendors who we would recommend for various services as well. I decided to combine these lists.
Verified Vendor Gallery
I used Airtable to stand up a quick database of vendors. Here are the three main links:
- Mobile Launch Page
Simple list of buttons to jump into specific provider categories. - Verified Vendor Gallery
A card view of vendors recommended by Dads and sorted by service type. - Vendor Entry Form
Simple entry form to submit recommendations.
Anyone can submit a recommended vendor by filling out the form. They go into an unverified state, and after I check them out for completeness, I verify them and they show up in the Gallery. Simple stuff.
Who is Listed?
I seeded the list with my recommendations as well as began typing in ones from the 2020 Directory from the Dad’s group. I didn’t type in every one as I focused on those who listed a name of a Dad from the group with the business first.
Questions
- Don’t see one you think should be listed?
Fill out the form and I’ll check it out and verify it. - See a mistake?
Drop me a note with the corrections and I’ll update it. - Can anyone be listed?
Sure. If you’re a Dad and recommend a company, list them. If you work there or own the business, check the “Dad’s Group Member” box on the form. If you offer Dads a deal, all the better. - Can I filter or sort the Gallery?
You can on the desktop version. Unfortunately, Airtable doesn’t support filtering or sorting on the mobile view. You can download the Airtable app though and sign up for a free account. Viewing the Gallery in the Airtable app gives you filtering and sorting capabilities. - Are you making money off this?
Absolutely not. This is purely a way to show support for companies and people we’ve done business with who will maybe also give us some perks for being in the Dad’s group. - Does it cost anything to list a recommended vendor?
Nope. Recommend them, I verify it, and they appear in the list. Conversation about said vendors can happen inside the Dad’s group Discussion area. - What is the little green line next to some of the entries?
The green stripe indicates the vendor is a member of the Dad’s group. - More questions?
Shoot me a note.
