In less than a week we’re going to see my favorite recording artist, Edwin McCain, at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. What?! It was too cool to pass up. After 30+ years performing, he is making his debut on July 29 and it worked out that we could be there. I’ll come post pictures after the trip.
Update: Pictures!
We’ve seen Edwin perform a lot of times. I love it most when he has his whole band there, but the trio shows are pretty great too. I’ve gushed about his songwriting and his voice many times so I’ll save that this time. Needless to say he’s an amazing story-teller, equal parts sincere, romantic, goofy, and dad-like in all his stories.
If you ever get the chance to see him, do it. Sure, he’s mostly known for two songs in the 90s, “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask For More.” But once you explore his catalog you too will see just how terrific he is.
Heather even got me a Cameo from Edwin for my birthday last year…I was floored! But, I said I wouldn’t gush…
Stay tuned for pictures from the show!
