I just knew this would happen when the Seahawks let go of 8-time Pro Bowl LB Bobby Wagner. I would argue that this player loss is as significant as losing Russell Wilson in the trade to Denver. Bobby Wagner has been one of my favorite athletes since he was drafted and immediately started making an impact. Yes, I even own a #54 Wagner Seahawks jersey that I will still wear on game day.
Fast forward to Bobby Wagner the free agent. He could have gone anywhere. I would have preferred he landed in the AFC somewhere even if it was with Wilson in Denver. But no, much like when Richard Sherman left, Wagner landed in the division with the LA Rams. This means he will be stuffing Rashaad Penny, smothering our tight ends, and sacking whomever lands at QB at least twice a year for as long as he is a Ram. *Sigh*
I love watching him play as I truly believe he is among the best to have ever played the position. I just wish he wouldn’t be killing the Seahawks so much with his talent looking ahead. And when he enters the Pro Football Hall of Fame someday I hope he goes in as a Seahawk. Don’t spend all (up to) $65 million in one place, Bobby. #GoHawks
